Our Season Never Ends

We are firm believers that “you get out, what you put in”. Which is why we have adopted a vigorous Off Season Training program. During the winter months and leading up to the start of the spring season our athletes put in a lot of hard work. Typically working out twice a week at our indoor facility which features a full turf field, 6 collapsible cages for hitting, multiple pitching mounds for bullpens, Jugg’s machine for BP, and plenty of L screens for live BP.

Our off season program is designed by our Head Athletic Trainer Scott Noel and his Assistant Athletic Trainer Matt Noel. Scott an assistant Varsity Baseball coach at Tallmadge High School, a previous 2 time Mizuno player of the year pitcher and infielder. Matt is currently the starting catcher at Malone University majoring in sports medicine science. They also collaborate with professional hitting instructor Marcus Geiselman as well as the coaching staff of each individual team. Our winter workouts consist of running the boys through a complete high school work out on a regular basis. We also incorporate a complete set of drills and conditioning that is used at a collegiate level.

Typical off season training consists of two, two and a half hour sessions weekly. One session focuses on Fielding techniques and training as well as hitting. The second session will consist of bull pens and pitcher development as well as hitting. Each session is finished with a half hour of strenuous conditioning, stretching and strength training.

These sessions are also used as an excellent team building opportunity, as each individual team works out independently. This ensures that by the time the ump yells “play ball” Our boys are highly trained and comfortable playing with each other as a team.  Along with our teams scheduled work outs our facility is available to Boys Of Summer athletes to come in at their leisure to get in extra work.
